As a horse loses some of his muscle fibers, he begins to lose some stretch, and now begins to compenstate with other groups of muscles. he may begin to compensate with the wrong groups causing more difficulties and discomfort.

It is important to first locate the damaged areas of the muscle and prevent any tearing or damage by restoring a healthy range of motion.
